FCPA Pilot Program to continue

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced that its Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Pilot Program will be extended past the conclusion of the Program’s one-year pilot period, which will end on April 5, 2017.

The Pilot Program, launched by DOJ in order to provide increased “transparency and consistency” with respect to FCPA-related corporate resolutions, will continue while the DOJ evaluates the Program’s “utility and efficacy,” whether the Program should be extended, and whether it should be modified.

During his remarks at the American Bar Association National Institute on White Collar Crime, Acting Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Blanco noted that the Program will go forward “in full force” until the DOJ has reached a final decision on the future of the Program.
